SUMMARY:Clown/Physical Theater Workshop
DESCRIPTION:4-day Clown/Physical Theater workshop with David Melendy from Compagnie Les Diptik\nFebruary 24th-27th 2025\, 9:00 – 12:00\, 13:00-16:00. \nDuring these 4 days\, we will exploring the style of theatrical clown and physical theater practiced by duo Les Diptik\, and techniques and methods they use when starting to create new characters and material. \nThe work will be focused on the exploration the “state of clown”\, and centered around exercises\, improvisation\, and play. The work is very centered around the body and movement. We will play with creating characters and clowns\, being someone new and being yourself. You are encouraged to come ready to become many different “clowns”\, working on specifc numbers or “clowns/characters” is not the goal of this workshop. \nThe working language will be French and/or English\, participants should have basic comprehension of at least one of these languages\, but need not speak them well. \nFOR WHOM\nThis workshop is for adults.\nParticipants do not need to have any prior experience working with clown\, however a minimum of performing experience is requested (theater\, dance\, circus\, other…) \nWHERE\nLabo Théâtre\nMaison des Artistes\nRue Jean-Prouvé 6\n1762 Givisiez (less than 10 min from Fribourg train station by public transport) \nPRICE\nThis workshop is “choose your own price”. You are encouraged to choose an amount that corresponds with both your financial situation and the value that these 4 days hold for you. Participation is not guaranteed.\nMaximum 10 participants\, minimum 6. That means that you can choose to pay CHF4.50\, you can choose to pay 4’500.-\, or you can choose something else\, and it will be accepted. \nHere is some supplementary information about the organisation of the workshop: \n\nThe total hours I spend for preparation\, administration\, organization\, and teaching are equivilant to about 6 days of full time work.\nI do not have children or other dependents\nThere will be between 6 – 10 participants in the workshop\nI have over 10 years of professional experience performing and teaching\nUsing the LaboTheatre will not cost me extra rental fees\, as my company Les Diptik are members of the association\, I can use the space for free.\n\nIf you are feeling lost\, here are some thoughts you could take into consideration: \n\nHow much you earn at your job for the same amount of time\nHow much your uncle earns at his job for the same amount of time\nWhat you paid for the last workshop you took\nFor a person of my profile\, many institutions as well as the professional performing arts syndicates in Switzerland suggest a weekly salary of CHF 1’600 – 2’000.-
